Solana mainnet has reached 1,000 epochs. The Solana Foundation marks the milestone with an official page featuring a countdown and a wallet checker that shows — without connecting — the epoch in which an address was first active.
What happened
Solana mainnet has reached its 1,000th epoch. The Solana Foundation published an official page at solana.com/epoch1000 that tracks the milestone with a live countdown and frames the “Epochs 0–999” period as the network’s history. Official posts from @solana and co-founder Anatoly “toly” Yakovenko accompany the celebration.
The wallet checker
The centerpiece of the page is a wallet checker: users enter a Solana address and see the epoch in which that address was first active. Importantly from a security standpoint, the check runs without a wallet connection and without a signature (“No connect, no signature”). No transaction is signed and no access to funds is requested.
What an epoch is
An epoch is the period over which, among other things, the leader schedule and staking rewards are set; on Solana it lasts roughly two days. The 1,000th milestone therefore corresponds to more than six years of network operation since the mainnet beta launched in 2020. Context
The milestone is primarily symbolic and communicative — it does not change any network parameters. It comes at a time when Solana recently recorded more than one billion transactions in a single week.
