Backpack Securities lists GOOGL and MSFT on Solana

Sunrise and Backpack Securities listed GOOGL on Solana on 26 October. MSFT followed the same day. Backpack says both tokens are redeemable 1:1. Sunrise's page data blocks the United States and Canada.

On 26 October, Sunrise and Backpack Securities wrote on X that GOOGL is listed on Solana via Sunrise. Both posts name Backpack Securities as the issuer. Backpack writes that MSFT was listed the same day via Sunrise, also issued by Backpack Securities.

In its post, Backpack says GOOGL is redeemable 1:1 for Alphabet Class A shares and transferable to traditional brokerages. According to Backpack, MSFT is redeemable 1:1 for Microsoft shares and transferable to traditional brokerages.

Sunrise’s token page names GooGLMvZtJZXHdNZy95RUrAMCCKxV6ghK3qE5ddBgVm5 as the GOOGL mint and MSFThX899B1DddH5jkyMpdArWXzP85VXLYDrbGGcRJM as the MSFT mint. The page data lists the United States and Canada as blocked regions. It dates the GOOGL start to 5:15 p.m. Berlin and the MSFT start to 5:45 p.m. Berlin, both on 26 October.

Onchain, the names are “Alphabet - Backpack Securities” and “Microsoft - Backpack Securities”, the symbols are GOOGL and MSFT, and each mint has 6 decimals. Both mint accounts sit in the Token-2022 program.

Backpack writes of more than $105 million in trading volume over 24 hours on a Sunday, while US stock markets were closed. The post is from 26 October and cites Birdeye. The figure covers Backpack Securities as an issuer.

Authorities on the mints

Solana’s documentation says a permanent delegate can authorize transfers and burn tokens from any token account of that mint. Holders cannot remove that delegate from their token accounts. The pause authority can pause the whole mint. At the time of the query on 26 October, neither mint was paused.

What to watch

  • Whether those authority addresses are publicly tied to a named issuer
  • Which countries Backpack opens conversion to
  • Whether Birdeye shows the same Sunday volume figure

Slot 461800835 returned a supply of 717.566412 GOOGL and 387.856513 MSFT. The scaled-UI multiplier was 1 on both mints. The raw amount and the displayed amount are therefore the same figure.
