Token AMZN from Backpack Securities is listed on Solana
According to Sunrise, AMZN has been listed on Solana via Sunrise since 22 October. Backpack says the token is redeemable 1:1 for Amazon shares. Jupiter's index lists other tokens with the AMZN symbol.
On 22 October, Sunrise wrote on X that AMZN is listed on Solana via Sunrise. Sunrise names Backpack Securities as the issuer.
In a blog post dated 23 October, Backpack says each AMZN token is tradable around the clock and redeemable 1:1 for a share of Amazon.com. According to the blog, conversion runs through Backpack Exchange. The tokens can be transferred to traditional brokerages.
Sunrise names the mint AMZNw7cwU9L9c7ewZXxTws2PwQYxBGm2Rxg3FLDBJz9B and calls it the canonical AMZN address on Solana. Onchain, the name is “Amazon - Backpack Securities”, the symbol is AMZN, and there are 6 decimals. The mint account sits in the Token-2022 program.
A query of Jupiter’s token index on 23 October returned 12 hits with the symbol AMZN. One of them is this mint. The index gives another address the name “Amazon.com - Securitize”.
