Inflation commission hits 100 percent in Marinade data
Marinade shows inflation-commission jumps from 0 to 100 percent within an epoch. The reward split uses the rate from the start of the prior epoch, not the rate on screen.
Marinade’s Explore page shows jumps in the inflation commission from 0 to 100 percent. The label is “mid-epoch”.
Epochs 1058, 1059 and 1060 each have one jump. The same view counts 64 such events across 56 epochs. It lists that span as 90 days.
Inflation rewards for an epoch are calculated at the start of the next epoch. The commission in that calculation is the rate on the vote account at the start of the epoch before the rewarded one. For epoch E, that is the start of epoch E−1.
SIMD-0249 describes that rule. If the vote account is missing there, the calculation uses the start of epoch E. If it is missing there too, it uses the state at calculation time.
At 100 percent in that snapshot, the inflation reward goes to the validator side. Stakers receive none of it in that split. That is 10,000 basis points, the arithmetic in SIMD-0291.
A dashboard later in the epoch shows the current rate. The calculation uses the older snapshot.
The Explore page does not show which rate was in the snapshot for those epochs.
