Bitso has added USDPT to its app, Western Union’s dollar stablecoin on Solana. The exchange wrote that on X on 13 October: “USDPT is now available in our app.”

On 14 October, Bitso described USDPT as Western Union’s digital dollar. In that post the token is backed by dollars, issued by a federally licensed US bank and built on Solana.

DiarioBitcoin says eligible retail customers in Mexico can buy and sell USDPT with Mexican pesos. The site cites a joint statement from Bitso and Western Union. Businesses and Western Union agents then get conversion and liquidity through Bitso Business.

Western Union named Anchorage Digital Bank as the issuer when it launched USDPT. The earlier report is Western Union launches Stablecard.

DiarioBitcoin names Bybit as the first major exchange to add USDPT, in June. Bitso does not give fees or trading volume.
