Yuga Labs starts Mudwater, BAYC cards as Solana NFTs
Yuga Labs has started Mudwater. Each digital item is a Solana NFT, backed by a printed card in a vault. Bored Apes can claim 10 packs each, Mutant Apes 2, until 19 January 2027.
Yuga Labs started Mudwater on 18 October, a trading-card set built around Bored Ape Yacht Club. Each digital item is a Solana NFT. The claim page is mudwater.bayc.com.
Bored Ape Yacht Club describes 120 pieces. The post also names foils, serialized cards and cracked-ice grails. OCAP Games printed the cards on orange-core paper.
Claiming packs
The site sets the claim at 10 packs per Bored Ape and 2 packs per Mutant Ape. It closes on 19 January 2027 at 00:00 UTC. More than 140,000 packs can be claimed that way.
Serialized packs are awarded at random, 30 days after the first claim. Bored Ape Yacht Club says it airdropped a “6551 Totem” to every Bored Ape and Mutant Ape, and that this token unlocks the pack claim.
Card in the vault
The tokens are backed by printed cards held in a vault. Redeeming a token pulls the card from the warehouse and mails it.
The vault checks a returned card and locks it away. The token comes back after that.
The menu item “Convert” is marked “Coming soon”. So is “Combine”.
Twenty-four pack tokens are meant to become one sealed box token. Ten box tokens are meant to become one case.
10,000 boxes and the fee
Supply is fixed at 10,000 boxes of 24 packs, 240,000 packs in all. A pack holds 10 cards.
Ten boxes make a case. Each level is supposed to trade on its own.
The site lists 7,134 of the 10,000 boxes as the community airdrop, 71.34 percent. That covers packs for the wallets and a box for every ape at ApeFest.
The page links packs, cards, and totems on OpenSea.
Every trade of a Mudwater NFT carries a 2.5 percent reflection. The fee buys APE and pays holders in proportion to what they hold.
It applies from a sealed case down to a single card. A 2.5 percent royalty applies as well.
In Ante, both players put up three cards. The winner draws one card at random from the other stake. Stakes stay onchain until the match ends.
The game is running in Otherside with demo cards. Cards from the collection come to the table later.
