Pyth DAO Directs All Product Funds It Receives into the PYTH Reserve
Under OP-PIP-136, every dollar the Pyth DAO receives from Pyth products goes to PYTH purchases for the reserve. Pyth's own Q3 figures: $11.49 million ARR and 276 paying accounts.
All product revenue goes to the PYTH reserve
The Pyth DAO has decided that every dollar it receives from Pyth products goes into the PYTH reserve. In a blog post on October 8, Pyth calls this the “100% Rule”. The basis is the passed proposal OP-PIP-136. It replaces the earlier rule, under which one third of the treasury’s non-PYTH balance was transferred each month and each transfer needed its own vote. A standing authorization takes the place of that monthly vote.
The rule covers funds that reach the DAO, meaning the DAO’s already approved share. The proposal does not change the products’ commercial terms. In the blog, Pyth writes that a 60 percent share of the products the DAO owns goes to the DAO. The proposal text does not set one rate for every product.
PYTH that the DAO receives directly goes into the reserve. Stablecoins go to a pre-authorized council, the Pythian Council. The council exchanges them for PYTH on the open market and transfers the tokens to the DAO treasury. In a post on October 8, Pyth writes that the DAO now uses every dollar it receives to buy PYTH each month.
The execution rules from the earlier decision OP-PIP-87 stay in place, per OP-PIP-136: at most 5 percent slippage per transaction, at most $25,000 per transaction, a preference for aggregators, limit orders at least 0.1 percent under the displayed market price, and public proofs. The council may not sell accumulated PYTH, borrow against it, use leverage or derivatives, or distribute it unless the DAO passes a separate proposal. It is still supposed to report monthly on assets received, purchases, prices, fees, slippage, and transaction links.
The blog’s overview lists Pyth Pro, Listing as a Service, the Data Marketplace, and Pyth Indices. The proposal also names Pyth Core fees, Pyth Entropy fees, and other DAO assets once they are repatriated.
Pyth dates the first purchases under the new authorization to September 30. In one passage of the same post, Pyth says the reserve already holds 41 million PYTH. On the reserve page linked from that post, Pyth puts the total after those purchases at 42 million PYTH. Both figures are Pyth’s own.
The Q3 Figures Pyth Reports
In a second post the same day, Pyth gives its own business figures as of the end of September. These are Pyth’s figures, not an audited statement.
- Active ARR: $11.49 million, up 86.5 percent on the previous quarter
- Net new ARR in the quarter: $5.33 million
- Pyth Pro: $9.68 million in live ARR
- Pyth Indices: $1.81 million across 16 clients
- Paying accounts: 276
- Terminal self-serve: $500,000 in new ARR in September
The 100% Rule post rounds the same total to $11.5 million ARR and 86 percent growth.
Pyth supplies price data for a large share of the Solana DeFi and tokenization products covered here. How the 24/7 indices are set up is in Pyth launches 24/7 indices.
