Firedancer v26.10.5 is a mainnet-ready release

The Firedancer v26.10.5 release notes call it a mainnet-ready release. They fix a rare epoch-boundary crash and set the default shred_tile_count to 2.

On 27 October 2026, Firedancer published v26.10.5 on GitHub. The release notes call it a mainnet-ready release.

The notes fix a rare bug that can crash the validator at the epoch boundary. During boot, snapshot download selects peers more carefully. The GUI shows the vote count on the slot that carries the certificate, not on the slot being voted on.

Block packing gets faster because expired transactions are dropped earlier. Connections for validators that send votes become more reliable. The default of [layout] shred_tile_count rises to 2.

The notes do not say how many validators are running this version.
