On 11 October 2026 at 1:54 p.m. Berlin time, getEpochInfo on the public RPC api.mainnet-beta.solana.com placed mainnet in epoch 1054 at slot 455,641,989, and the closed epoch 1053 is the first full epoch at the 200 ms slot target. getEpochSchedule reports 432,000 slots per epoch from slot 0, so epoch 1053 runs from slot 454,896,000 through slot 455,327,999. getBlockTime for slot 454,896,000 returned 9 October 2026, 14:40:56 UTC (4:40:56 p.m. Berlin), and for slot 455,328,000, the first slot of epoch 1054, 10 October 2026, 16:52:39 UTC (6:52:39 p.m. Berlin). The gap of 94,303 seconds divided by 432,000 slots is 218.294 ms, which rounds to 218.3 ms, and the epoch lasted 26.2 hours. getRecentPerformanceSamples only covers a recent window, and this epoch was already closed, so the reading uses block times at the epoch boundaries. Crypto Compass, citing Solana Compass, reports the same rounded figure, and the switch itself is covered in the SIMD-0525 piece.
