staking
Validator
A network node that processes transactions and secures the blockchain. Validators receive SOL as reward.
Validator
A validator is a computer node that participates in the Solana network, processes transactions, and produces new blocks. Validators secure the integrity of the network.
How Do You Become a Validator?
Validators need powerful hardware and a stable internet connection. They must put up SOL as collateral (stake) and run the validator software.
Delegation
As a regular user, you can delegate your SOL to a validator. By doing so, you support the network and receive a share of the staking rewards in return.
Commission
Validators charge a commission (typically 0-10%) on the staking rewards. The rest goes to the delegators.
